The saved limit. It stays put until someone changes it here.
This is the charger's saved limit. It is written into the charger itself, so it survives unplugging the car, power cuts and restarts. It stays exactly where you put it until somebody changes it in this app.
Use this for the speed you normally want, day to day.
Use it for one-off situations — for example turning the car down to 6 A while the oven, the water heater and the sauna are all running, without losing your normal setting.
The charger always uses the lower of the two. So a temporary cap of 8 A will hold the car at 8 A even if the saved max speed is 16 A.
Pause sets the car charger to 0 A. It is always a temporary instruction, so charging resumes by itself the next time the car is unplugged and plugged back in.
Every kilowatt-hour you use is billed twice — once for the electricity itself, and once for transporting it through the grid. On top of that there is a fixed monthly fee that depends on how hard you push the grid in a single hour.
With Norgespris the price of the power itself is fixed at 0.50 kr per kWh, day and night, all year. Nothing you do with the charger changes this part per kWh — only how many kWh you use.
This covers the grid company plus state charges (Elavgift and the Enova fee). It is deliberately cheaper outside peak hours so that people move their heavy use to the night.
| When | Price |
|---|---|
| Weekdays 06:00 – 22:00 | 46.60 øre |
| Weekdays 22:00 – 06:00 | 31.40 øre |
| Weekends & public holidays | 31.40 øre |
Purely from the energy rate difference (15.20 øre, or kr 0.152 per kWh), you save kr 30.40 per 1,000 km driven in the Lexus RZ 450e — assuming an average efficiency of 20 kWh / 100 km.
| Annual distance | Energy used | Pure kWh rate savings |
|---|---|---|
| 8,000 km | 1,600 kWh | kr 243.20 |
| 10,000 km | 2,000 kWh | kr 304.00 |
| 12,000 km (Norwegian average) | 2,400 kWh | kr 364.80 |
| 15,000 km | 3,000 kWh | kr 456.00 |
| 18,000 km | 3,600 kWh | kr 547.20 |
| 20,000 km | 4,000 kWh | kr 608.00 |
The grid company also charges a fixed monthly fee based on your busiest hours. They take the three highest hours of the month, each on a different day, and average them. That average decides which step you land on:
| Step | Average of 3 top hours | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 – 2 kW | kr 150 |
| 2 | 2 – 5 kW | kr 250 |
| 3 | 5 – 10 kW | kr 420 |
| 4 | 10 – 15 kW | kr 585 |
| 5 | 15 – 20 kW | kr 755 |
Prices are the ones set for this household. If the grid company changes them, they can be updated in the app.
Lexus RZ 450e (2023) — 63 kWh usable out of 71.4 kWh gross. Charging over AC is about 90% efficient, so roughly one kWh in ten is lost as heat and never reaches the battery. The app already adds that on top, which is why "energy needed" is larger than the battery gap.
Easee Charge Lite, Type 2 — the slider goes up to 16 A. On a three-phase supply each amp is worth about 0.69 kW, so 6 A ≈ 4.2 kW and 16 A ≈ 11 kW. While the car is actually charging the app measures the real figure from the charger and uses that instead of guessing.
The car cannot tell the charger how full it is, so you type it in once — read it off the car's screen or the Lexus app. After that, while a session is running, the app counts it up by itself from the energy the charger reports it has delivered. Re-check it now and then; after a drive it will be out of date.
Based on about 370 km from a full battery in mild weather. In cold weather the app drops that by roughly 28%, which is normal for a Norwegian winter. You can force mild or cold in Settings. Treat it as a guide, not a promise — driving style, speed and heating all matter.
Time is simply the energy needed divided by the charging power. The cost is worked out hour by hour across the whole session, so a charge that starts before 22:00 and finishes after it is priced correctly on both sides of the change.
Installed, it opens full screen from your home screen with its own icon — no address bar, and it still works if the phone briefly loses signal.
The battery level follows the car, so it carries across. Charging speed is remembered separately for each charger.
